      Description

Some suggestions for this are (all these gains are super minimal):

For any reused selector in a function, store the selector result in a var and reuse WITHOUT wrapping it in jQuery()
For any jQuery objects, do not wrap them in jQuery (this gain is super minimal)
For any instances of .not() can the selector be more efficient by using one selector/function (this means get rid of not where can)

Optional: Can we replace some areas where we are using jQuery with javascript for a performance boost (hardest to do by far)
